“Victoria is at a turning point. Having honest, transparent, and accountable government is what will lead Australia to greater growth and prosperity.” - Maya Tesa

Local Policies for our community

24 hr Local Emergency Clinic

Privately funded, will provide the community with local and reliable 24 hour health care. Staffed by local GPs, nurses & specialists to ease pressure off Maroondah and Box Hill hospitals.

Cost Of Living

I understand the challenges that business owners face, particularly as a result of excessive regulation, and I am committed to reducing wasteful Government spending in order to help reduce inflation.

Affordable Housing

Victorians pay the highest rate of taxation in the country. The continued targeting of home investment portfolios, combined with inflated rental regulations, has stifled a once healthy rental market that benefited both renters and landlords. Taxation should only be used to improve the lives of all Australians, not to fund Government expansion.

  •    Scrap Stamp Duty on all properties
  •    Repeal the increase in land tax on secondary properties
  •    Repeal the windfall tax to open up more land for housing

Education Reform

Teachers in the electorate tell me that basic reading, comprehension, writing, math, and science should be prioritised in order to prepare students for the real world, and that they are frustrated by government and bureaucratic intervention in education decisions, where they frequently spend more time attempting to navigate an inefficient system to the detriment of students. If elected, I will advocate in Parliament for simple reform measures, as well as support for Micro and Independent Schools on behalf of the electorate's teachers, parents, and students, and by extension, statewide.

Teachers are concerned that our children's mental health is deteriorating. With school refusal on the rise, parents are at a loss as well. Outside tutoring is in high demand as parents realise their children are not learning the fundamentals at school. Our government-mandated curriculum is inadequate. Teachers want control over their curriculum so they can focus on what they do best.

Abolish School Zones

Abolishing school zones so parents can choose the best educational environment for their child needs, and to support Independent & Micro schools. This policy is annexed to my Education Reform.

Support for Local Business

Local businesses employ locals, attract tourists and passing traffic, and are an important part of the local economy.  Small business owners will benefit financially from the elimination of payroll taxes. Keeping cash in circulation allows you to choose your payment method and access your money whenever you need it.

Restore 'Right of Objection' for local Developments

The government is eroding your right to object to, and oppose medium and high rise developments. I will support your right to oppose 'Box Hill' style medium and high rise developments in our electorate.

Home Renovations & Granny Flats

Easing building regulations and red tape, to reduce costs & delays when renovating your home, while free Granny flats permits will help keep your family together.

Repeal the Ban on Gas

Gas is a reliable, safe, and naturally abundant energy source. With the rising cost of living, people should not have to choose between heating and eating.

Energy, the Environment and Climate

ENERGY

The State Government effectively shut down our most dependable baseload power industry in order to win votes. As a result, they abandoned business, investment, and ordinary Victorians, resulting in a statewide economic and energy crisis.

ENVIRONMENT

If we are serious about achieving zero emissions, we must consider all viable energy options, including nuclear. A powerful and consistent power source that is also safe, zero-emission, and abundant.

CLIMATE

I want to address climate concerns without raising your living costs. That can only be accomplished by;

  •   Increase energy reliability and to reduce energy costs
  •   Scrap Renewable Energy Targets
  •   Reduce gas market interventions
  •   Repeal nuclear energy ban
  •   Make energy regulations fair & consistent.

Honest Government

Government spending & corruption are out of control. Giving IBAC the authority to refer cases to prosecution will hold politicians accountable. Victorians currently pay more than $70 million per week in interest, and the State Government continues to spend. Victoria is on track to amass $171.4 billion in debt by 2027. That's a massive $25,500 debt on every Victorian adult and child.

Legalise Medicinal Cannabis

Legalising cannabis makes sense. Medicinal cannabis benefits people suffering from chronic disease, anxiety & terminal illness.
